Our Hot Cross Buns are now available!
Hot cross buns are a traditional Easter treat in many parts of the world. But what are they, and where did they come from?
Hot cross buns are a type of sweet bun, usually spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg, and marked with a cross on the top.
The cross is said to represent the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The exact origins of hot cross buns are unknown, but they are thought to date back to the early days of Christianity. Some believe that they were first baked by monks in the 12th century as a way of marking Good Friday.
Hot cross buns are now enjoyed all over the world, and are often eaten as a symbol of Easter. They are usually available from March or April until Easter Sunday, however this year at Brunetti Classico we will be hand making ours from late February to ensure that you get your hot cross bun fix nice and early!
