Happy New Year!
Across the world, every culture has its own special New Year’s Eve traditions based in folklore, superstition, and increasing luck and wealth. In Italy, to wish a happy new year, we say
“Felice anno nuovo!” or “Buon anno!”.
Where we’re from, New Year’s Eve is a day to spend with loved ones celebrating the achievements of this year and wishing well for the new year.
If there’s one thing Italian’s love its food. Having a big dinner on New Years Eve is just as traditional as Christmas dinner. This dinner consists of multiple courses, enjoyed in the company of family and friends and always including a very very large bowl or two of lentil soup (if you want to ensure wealth, luck and prosperity for the next year ahead. but that is a story for another time).

Often served during this dinner is Pandoro & Prosecco – a delicious and indulgent combination of Italian flavours. Pandoro is a traditional Italian sweet bread – traditionally it is star shaped & served dusted with icing sugar to resemble the snowy peaks of the Italian Alps during Christmas and New Years Eve.
