At Brunetti Classico, our passion for Italian cuisine is more than inspiration—it’s our livelihood since 1985. Each region of Italy offers its own culinary magic, and we bring it to the table every single day. From breakfast through dinner, here’s how we celebrate the rich tapestry of Italy—using dishes you’ll actually find on our menu.
️ Valle d’Aosta – Cheese Fonduta Inspiration
Though fonduta isn’t on our list, the creamy Crocchette di Patate (potato & cheese croquettes with balsamic mayo) echo that alpine comfort—golden, oozy, perfect with a glass of wine.
Piedmont – Vitello Tonnato Twist
Our Antipasto All’Italiana brings the elegance of Piedmont to life: a chef’s selection of cured meats and cheeses, olives, pickled veg, and fresh focaccia. We like to think of it as a hearty, shareable antipasto plate with Northern Italian flair.
Liguria – Pesto in Pasta Form
Our Fettuccine Pesto pairs fresh basil pesto with parmesan and roasted cherry tomatoes—pure Ligurian sunshine served with a flourish.
Lombardy – Golden, Cozy Risotto
While classic saffron risotto isn’t on the menu, our Risotto di Giorno (ask staff for today’s version) often pays homage to Lombardy—creamy, well-preserved, and undeniably comforting.
Veneto – Tiramisu on the Menu
A national treasure: our Tiramisu honours its origins in Treviso, Veneto. Made with layers of espresso-soaked savoiardi, mascarpone cream, and a dusting of cocoa, it’s a true Brunetti Classico favourite — rich, velvety, and unmistakably Italian.
Emilia‑Romagna – Tagliatelle al Ragù Refined
Our Lasagna Classica is the soul of Bologna on a plate—layers of fresh pasta nestled in pork-and-beef ragù, béchamel, and parmesan. No shortcuts—just real, classic Italian comfort.
Tuscany – Fresh Bread Salad Boosted
We don’t serve panzanella exactly, but our Insalata Ricca brings that Tuscan ethos: black rice, chickpeas, feta, seeds, pomegranate, sweet potato—all tossed with honey‑mustard dressing for fresh crunch and wholesome flavour.
Lazio – Carbonara Without Cream
Our Spaghetti Carbonara stays true to Rome: guanciale, egg yolks, Pecorino, pepper—no cream—just silky, decadent simplicity.
Campania – Neapolitan Pizza
Our wood‑fired pizzas capture the essence of Naples:
Margherita – San Marzano tomatoes, fior di latte, basil.
Prosciutto di Parma – proscuitto, shaved parmesan, cherry tomato, rocket.
Brunetti Classico special – spicy nduja, sausage, broccolini.
All on airy, blistered crusts, baked to perfection.
Puglia – Rooted & Rustic
We channel the spirit of Puglia in our Polpette al Sugo (pork & beef meatballs in Napoli sauce) and Mini Arancini—simple, savoury, and handcrafted to perfection.
Sicily – Crunchy Cannoli
At our cake and gelato counters, you’ll find cannoli and other classic Sicilian pastries galore—a sweet bite of sunshine and ricotta bliss.
Sardinia – Unexpected Sweet Finisher
Our Mini Arancini aren’t sweet like seadas, but for a perfect end to your meal, try a Tuscan Tart – Carrot & Cheesecake or indulge in one of our fine gelati scoops. Dessert done right, Brunetti style.
From Crocchette di Patate to Spaghetti Carbonara, Neapolitan pizzas to handcrafted desserts, Brunetti Classico Carlton brings Italy’s regions to your table—on Lygon Street, and in every bite. Whether you’re dropping in for a weekday Pane Tostato breakfast, savouring Lasagna Classica at lunch, or gathering for a special wood-fired pizza dinner, you’re tasting Italy authentically, with a modern Melbourne twist.
Buon appetito—and come savour the journey!
